Honestly – dozens upon dozens of eminent sophisticates and scholars devote their time to excusing the most vicious anti-Semitism as “justified criticism of Israel” or “anti-Zionism”. What did you expect to happen?

The explicit characterization of Jews as the root cause of social ills – or as the single barrier blocking utopian ambitions – is particularly scary. That’s always the element that really gives ummpf to genuinely genocidal projects. But even that has been reintroduced only because of the pervasiveness of fashionable, intellectual anti-Zionism. You’re used to hearing it as the claim that resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will solve all of the problems in the Middle East. But it’s essentially the same claim – but for the Jews, most of the problems in the world would go away.
