Outrage Of The Day: UNIFIL Allowed Hezbollah To Plant Bombs

When leftists haughtily inform you that the UN constantly condemns Israel for human rights violations (as if you didn’t know), you should feel free to point out that the UN collaborates with genocidal terrorists:

Defense officials slammed UNIFIL and the Lebanese government Monday night, claiming that their “slackness” was what enabled Hizbullah to plant five deadly explosive devices along the border between Israel and Lebanon. IDF officials said it was possible that the bombs were planted as part of a planned kidnapping attack similar to the July 12 abduction of reservists Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser that sparked the war this past summer. Defense Minister Amir Peretz transmitted a harsh-worded message to UNIFIL command in Lebanon and urged the peacekeeping force to crack down on Hizbullah and prevent the guerrilla group from returning to the border and carrying out attacks against Israel.

It seems that UNIFIL is often conveniently “slack”. After Lebanon II, it came out that the fake Hezbollah’s fake UNIFIL truck, used to lure in Regev and Goldwasser, had real UNIFIL plates. Where did they get those real UNIFIL plates? Why, they “stolen” from a real UNIFIL truck. And whose truck were they “stolen” from? Why, that of a UNIFIL soldier who thinks of Lebanon as a “second homeland”.

This isn’t some deep dark conspiracy theory: UNIFIL is made up of troops drawn from countries where more than three out of every four people blame Israel for the Mideast conflict. A good majority in each country thinks that the Jewish State ought literally to be destroyed. Of course a soldiers and commanders will slip through who believe that their self-styled ethics are more important than their ostensible orders. Of course some will be willing to let Hezbollah get away with literal murder. UNIFIL isn’t there to keep the peace between Israel and Hezbollah. They’re there to provide Hezbollah with 10,000 human shields.

Everyone knows that this is a charade. The question is how international diplomats continue getting away with the nudge-nudge wink-wink game that it isn’t.
