Late last night, we got an email – along with probably 70 percent of the blogosphere – announcing a new blog by USNews terrorism guru David Kaplan, which they’re calling Bad Guys. It looks like it should be pretty good, even if the specific story that got pushed in the email (about Saudi Arabia banning the letter X because it looks like a cross) was blogged on Language Log two weeks ago.
Not that we’ll ever criticize someone for blogging a story two weeks (or months) after it breaks, given that we avail ourselves of that luxury quite often. But it’ll be interesting to see whether Kaplan can transition from making news through his articles to commenting on other people’s news in blog time.
