The Europeans are always trying to help:
The following day, the International Herald Tribune reported that the permanent status agreement is already prepared , in the form of the Geneva Initiative. Thus the Europeans are already prepared to skip the first phase of the road map, in which the Palestinians are required to fight terror, in order to gallop together with the entire international community directly to bliss. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, it is to be presumed, shook his head at the sight of this naivete and no doubt was relieved when he found out that Bush stood in the breach.
The Geneva Initiative, for those who blinked and missed it, is a joke of a peace plan put together by failed politicians and pushed by washed out celebrities. It’s roughly the equivalent of Michael Dukakis and Janeane Garofalo offering Florida to Cuba in exchange for them liking us: Israel surrenders the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem and in return they get to formally object to the concurrent flood of refugees to whom the Initiative grants the Right of Return – which is most of them. This is what the Europeans are cooking up when they’re not busy openly insulting Israel.
